Meet Me In St. Louis Roadtrip: Day 3

Day 3 started early with church at McKnight Crossings.  This is the church that we grew up attending and it was nice to go back and see some familiar faces!

After church, we headed to Amighettis for lunch - YUM!

Then, it was time to start crossing off all the FUN places we wanted to go while in St. Louis.  The main agenda for this trip was to take Madden to some of the places we enjoyed going to as kids.

First on the list:  Kirkwood Pool!
Kirkwood is the community we lived in growing up.  We had a community pool, but it wasn't near as nice as this NEW one!  Sure wish we had something like this where we live now.  We thoroughly enjoyed getting to explore this new pool adventure....and it was a GREAT day for Madden....

Being lazy on the Lazy River....

We were all SO worn out after about 4 hours.  We grabbed dinner at Lions Choice (another favorite!) and rested for a bit.

Then, we headed downtown to check out the arch.

Lainey and Madden climbed the stairs up to the arch while the rest of us waited in the car!  :)  These aren't the best pictures, but show the arch and riverfront...

Then, we headed to Ted Drewes for frozen custard!  We went here every night while we were in St. Louis!  Definitely a #1 favorite of the Schwenker family - and most of St. Louis!  It is always busy and quite a unique experience!

Part of the experience is opening up the back of the car and tailgating while you eat your custard!  Madden thought that was so cool.

Dad always finishes off what everyone can't eat.  I think he orders everyone larges, knowing that we can't eat all of it - just so he can have a taste!

We got back to the hotel and crashed before gearing up for Day 4....
