Let's All Go To The Movies!

Several of our friends have taken their kiddos to the movies, so we decided to try taking Madden to experience his first movie ever! It was a toss up between Cars 2 and Winnie the Pooh. Marc didn't want to see Winnie the Pooh and Madden loves cars, so Cars 2 won!

When we arrived, we learned that Cars 2 was actually in 3D. We weren't sure if he would like that, but we were already there and he was excited....

Madden and I went to get seats, while daddy got popcorn, candy and sprite!

Here we are! Glasses on and ready to watch!

.....well, we made it through the previews.....the previews were in 3D and there was a preview for The Lion King. Madden freaked out! He said "the animals are coming out of the screen". I took him out and tried to talk him into going back in, but there was no way.

So, we finished our movie watching experience at home, in mommy and daddy's bed and watched a little Backyardigans!

Lesson learned: No 3D movies for a while! Maybe we'll try another movie soon....after we recover from the $60 outing that lasted for 15 minutes!

Car Wash: Open for business....

Madden discovered the joy of the water hose this summer (before it got too hot to go outside). I snapped a few pictures on my phone of his little "car wash". He loves to clean his cars and play in the water.

....and drink the water.....ewwwwww!

He'll ever kill a few bugs if he see one!

Summer Fun!

It's HOT here....really hot....record setting hot this summer.....so, we have spent most of our Saturday mornings in water of some sort....at the pool, sprinklers and friend's birthday parties!

So glad he LOVES the water!

4th of July!

Every year we talk about going somewhere cooler for the July 4th weekend - and every year we somehow end up at home melting in the heat!

This year, we spent the morning swimming, the afternoon napping and the evening with our neighbors at their mom's house. I wish I had taken a picture of her house....it is lovely. Right out of a magazine. A white cottage with a big wrap around porch with plenty of comfy seating! And the inside is just as delightful! Lovely table settings, DELICIOUS food and plenty of fun for the kids. We ALL had a wonderful time!

Madden was in LOVE with this little tricycle....maybe we need to get one for his birthday?!

We ate and ate and ate - wonderful brisket, squash casserole (and I don't even like squash!), homemade fried okra, fresh fruit and homemade beer bread! Oh my!

After dinner, the dads went to get some fireworks and the kids played. Once it got dark, we headed outside to play with the sparklers.

Last year, I didn't let Madden play with the sparklers, but this year, we decided he could try. Oh my. He did pretty well, but certainly scared us a few times while waving it near his clothes!

Beautiful Presley! She is SO sweet and plays so well with the little guys.....and helps to keep them out of trouble!

Look at that face....

We were able to watch the fireworks from the neighborhood. Watching the fireworks and scared to death....Madden kept asking if he could go home. Maybe next year he will actually like them!

Happy 4th of July from the Moores!

Lainey, Pops and Care Care (and the dogs!) came to visit us a few weeks ago. We went swimming, went shopping, played and ate out - and Pops was able to fix a few things around the house before he left! Yay!

They had never been to Fish Camp, so the kids treated Lainey and Pops to dinner in honor of Fathers Day. It was a fun evening and Madden even tried a little fishing (instead of the usual throwing of rocks in the lake!)

Uncle Ben and Madden looking for fish

We tried using some goldfish snacks as bait....but it didn't really work! There were a couple of boys there that were catching grasshoppers and using them as bait and the fish were biting like crazy for those. I wasn't that interested in catching a fish if it meant I had to catch a grasshopper first!

Lovely. A family picture. Don't know what is up with my facial expression. I was trying to get Madden to smile and yet I end up looking like a clown!

As we were leaving, Madden spotted a tractor in the field, so we had to stop by to take a look.

A fun evening and fun weekend together! Thanks for coming!
