Welcome To Our Home: Christmas Edition

I have my mom to thank for these pictures! Some of them aren't the best because of the lighting, but I love looking back and seeing all the details to celebrate the season. Such a warm, cozy time in our home!

Welcome!

We reluctantly paid to put lights on our house this year. Madden really wanted them! And it turned out beautiful (sorry picture is blurry!)

Now, all the Santa's and the large Christmas tree has come down, but I leave all my snowmen/winter decor out until March! It may be 70 degrees here today, but it is supposed to be winter!

Love This Boy!

Baking, Baking, Baking!

The day after Christmas was spent making cookies!

Me & My little chef

He helped us cut out the cookies...

We cooked them and let them cool - then the girls spent the night decorating them!

After the cookies, we decided to try making divinity. My Nanny used to always make divinity and even had a recipe on how to make it in the microwave. In addition to plain divinity, she added peanut butter and made peanut butter divinity - so we decided to give it a try!

We had the recipe and followed it carefully.....and it took 3+ people to figure it out!

Rolling it into a "log"....

It was scary, but turned out DELICIOUS! Just like Nanny's! Nanny, if you read this, you should be proud of us! :) Love that you gave us so many special recipes!

Christmas Day

We woke up around 8am on Christmas morning! Still enjoying these years when Madden doesn't fully know what is coming and sleeps till his normal time.

There was a fire engine nearby and he was more concerned about the fire truck coming to our house than anything else. Once we convinced him the fire truck was NOT coming, he was ready to get up and see what Santa brought!

Gifts this year included a Race Track, a "Fire Be-partment" (Department), new truck books, firetruck rainboots, basketball goal and a HUGE bear!

SO HAPPY!

Giving the bear a hug. We asked him what it was and he said "whoop". So, we have Whoop the Bear. This bear is a little ridiculous and a huge space waster.....BUT, I saw him at Costco for super cheap and he is SO soft. And a perfect place to sit and read books.

A new snowman hat! Now, if the weather would just get cold enough to wear it!

What's in the stocking?

Dad got a new Mizzou shirt.....and wore it for 2 days straight. At least we didn't lose him!

When did he get SO BIG? At one point during the morning, he said "I am SO happy!" Love him.

Mama wasn't left out either! She mentioned she needed new bras - and daddy bought her some. OH MY! A little too much....At least he listened! I have since exchanged for the right size and a little more plain (boring!)

I also got a new 'yoga' outfit from Lululemon. Marc discovered this store and thought I needed an outfit from there. Love the pink and love the outfit! Who knows, maybe I will start yoga one day!

After presents, we enjoyed breakfast complete with the Christmas Day sausage pinwheels. Marc's mom makes these once a year for Christmas.

The rest of the day was spent relaxing, napping, cooking, watching football, etc. We enjoyed delicious steaks for dinner- some of us still in our pj's!

Until next year...
