Annual Trip to the State Fair of TX

We almost didn't make it to the State Fair this year.  We were out of town several weekends and just busy - but we were offered free tickets for the last weekend and we just decided to go after work on Friday night!

This is a somewhat abbreviated picture post because all pictures were taken with our phone.  Also, Madden's clothes don't match....and he looks a little raggety....he came from school and we were just going to the fair, so I just went with it....probably something about being 7 month pregnant too!

Speaking of 7 months pregnant....look at this cute shot of Madden hugging my growing belly.  Love it!

We kind of have out 'route' down now when we go.  We always start to the right and end by the rides/games....
First stop was to see the tractors!

...then corn dogs!  I must confess....my real reason for going was for the food this year!  Being pregnant at fair time is WONDERFUL!  :)

We actually ended up going on the evening that Big Tex burned down.  They had removed him from the stage area, but people were bringing flowers to lay at the site and news crews were everywhere.

Next up was the car show!  Madden enjoyed getting in/out of several cars and getting to 'drive'.  Here he is in a convertible - his favorite!

We somehow managed to spend more time that ever at the ride/game area - which totally takes advantage of your $$!  We let Madden ride a couple of rides...but his favorite part was the games.  So, we came home with 3 el-cheapo stuffed toys!

Funnel Cake!  YUM!  Madden kept asking what kind of cake it was - he loved it!

Daddy even got in on one of the rides at the end!

Until next year....where we'll get to introduce baby sister to the fair!  :)

Tech Tech vs. OU

We managed to make it out to Lubbock for a game this year.  Madden stayed home and we loaded up Marc's 2 brothers and their wives and had an adults only trip!  A cold front came through and it was perfect football watching weather.  Our niece, Kendal is an OU cheerleader and we had fun seeing her before the game!

The game didn't end like we would've liked, but it was still a fun weekend in Lubbock!
