To Remember....

Marc, Madden and I had been to the park across town last weekend and Marc decided to drive by the cemetery. Marc has not gone back since we buried Leroy (his dad) and we have never taken Madden. As we approached it, it was really busy and there was some sort of Memorial Day service taking place, so we just drove by.

Marc said to Madden “That is where Teddy lives”.

And without skipping a beat, Madden asks “Is that Heaven?”

Marc and I just looked at each other like dumbfounded – what do we say? We talk about Teddy…..that he is Madden’s grandpa, that he died and that he lives in Heaven.

So, Marc said “that is where we took Teddy so he could go to Heaven.” To which Madden said, “Is there a tall ladder there that goes up in the sky?”

And we said “Yes.”

So sweet.
