Things to Remember About Madden at Age 2

Madden,

You are growing into a little boy right before my eyes! I can't believe how much you have grown and changed over the past year. You have gone from crawling to walking to running and jumping! You are such a delight to your daddy and I....and we can't imagine life without you in it.

Here are your 2 year stats: Daddy is excited because he found a website where you plug in your stats at age 2 and they project how tall you will be as an adult - and you are projected to be 6ft. tall!)
Weight: 32.4lbs (90%)
Height: 35 1/4 inches 75%)
Head: 50.1cm (90%)
You did SO well at the doctor this time. You talked and talked to "Dr. Gwanger" (Granger). You let him take a good look at you and didn't cry until shots. :(

I am incredibly proud of you and all you are learning right now. You moved to a dayschool in May. It was a big transition for you, but you love it and are having so much fun! You have started talking about friends (Murphy, Noah, Claire and Garrett), you love your teachers (Miss Angie and Miss Suzette) and you come home each day with new vocabulary, songs and crafts! We are blown away at how much your vocabulary has grown in just the past 3 months. You are starting to talk in phrases now, rather than single words. You pick up on conversations around you and on television - we are really having to watch what we say now!!

Some cute things you are saying right now are: Bunner, Bunner (Bummer, Bummer), Hewwo (Hello), Dad Gum It, Woo Hoo!, Pwaise the Word (Lord), Bye Bye Wizard (Lizard) or Bye Bye Airplane.

You love to sing! Some of your favorite songs are Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, The Wheels On The Bus, Itsy Bitsy Spider, My God Is So Big. At night when I rock you, you always request "Careful" - which is "Be Careful Little Eyes What You See".

You know most nursery rhymes word for word.

You can count to 10 in English and almost in Spanish (with some prompting).

You can sing your ABC's.

You can point to objects and identify what they are.

You love to play outside.....and that has been hard this summer when it is SO hot. Looking forward to Fall!

You LOVE your family and can identify who each person is.....and say everyone's name. You often ask about family members at random and we talk about them.

You love your mommy and daddy and prefer for all 3 of us to be together.

You are very organized and will spend time to get toys in their right place.

You love playing with water. Most days, you have to change your clothes at school because you get too wet playing in the sink! You enjoy pouring water from one cup to another and that occupies you for a while.

You love waffles and insist on eating one almost every morning.....with yogurt or a banana.

You love Sonic and often ask for a slushy when I pick you up from school. We don't go everyday....but usually on Fridays for a special treat.

Some of your favorite things to play with right now are balls, cars, stickers, magnets.

You love to jump on mommy and daddy's bed and sing 10 Little Monkeys Jumping On The Bed.

You love your bed and have not tried to climb out. You sleep from 8pm-8am and like to have 2 blankies and Skippy with you. You have started to prolong the nighttime routine lately by requesting milk, kleenex for your 'boogers', or even a diaper change!

You NEVER sit down for a meal. You insist on standing in the chair. This can be challenging at times!

You love to go to Honey's house and get so excited when she comes over. You insist on looking in her purse right away for a 'sucker' or 'candy'. She usually fulfills your request!

You are very affectionate and will give us hugs and kisses at random. Warms our heart! You also say "wuv you".

I could go on and on......but these are just a few things to remember at this stage. We are having a lot of FUN!
