Spring Break!

A few weeks ago, my friend Jenny called me to see if I would be interested in taking a trip with her to Houston to visit our friend Stephanie. Both Jenny and Steph are teachers and Spring Break was coming up. I was hesitant to go since I would have to take the time off work (since I don't get a spring break!), but after some thought decided this would be a fun trip and a great chance to catch up with dear friends. Boy, am I glad I went! It was a lot of fun!

Jenny and I met on Sunday.....loaded up all our stuff in her car and headed out. I brought Madden and she brought her 2 boys, Colton and Caden. We stuffed our carseats in the backseat of her car, buckled up and headed to Houston with our 9 month old, 20 month old and 2 1/2 year. Whew! All 3 boys did pretty good. They slept, watched movies and ate A LOT of chocolate chips cookies! Hey - whatever it takes! :)

Caden was on the other side of Colton, but his carseat is turned backward, so it was hard to get a picture!

We got to Steph's house in time for a yummy dinner. Her son, Lincoln (almost 4) was so excited for his "spring break buddies" to arrive. Colton and Lincoln hit it off immediately. They played so well together. Madden did his own thing and Caden just watched all the action.

Monday, we went to a local Arboretum. It was a BEAUTIFUL day and a perfect place for the boys to run around. We packed a picnic lunch too! The day was going very well until Madden decided to throw a fit.....and this was the fit of all fits! I had never seen him act this way. He's getting closer and closer to TWO! I tried EVERYTHING to get him to stop, but he wouldn't and I ended up carrying a kicking a screaming child out of the park. Nice. By the time we got ready for our picnic, he had stopped and was very pleasant the rest of the time.

Monday night, Steph had up make our own pizzas on the grill and they were SO yummy! We let the kids play and enjoyed some girl time late that night!

On Tuesday, we headed home after lunch. It was a very quick trip, but SO worth it! The boys all had fun together and it was great to catch up with dear friends.
